Texas Makes It 6 Straight with 6-4 Win
The Texas Rangers relied on the hitting of catcher Hiroshige Yamada to stop the California Angels, 6-4. For the game, Yamada was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner was Kyle Curve in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Bryan Banana took the loss. Mike Webb sewed up the save, his 14th.

Yamada had a timely hit for Texas in the top of the eighth. With California trailing 4-3, he turned a full count fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Texas.
