					| Athletics Win at Seattle, 3-2 |
					| The Oakland Athletics did just enough to secure a victory over the Seattle Mariners, 3-2, at Safeco Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Cody Autry. Autry got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 7.2 innings. Autry allowed 1 run. Charlie Shook notched his 15th save in 15 chances.
Oakland designated hitter Tom Butterbaugh contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a cutter into right field for a 2-run single. It was his 55th hit of the season and put the Athletics ahead, 3-0.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Butterbaugh said.

The second-place Athletics improved to 32-28.
