People outside the ballpark no doubt heard the roar of the crowd as the winning run crossed the plate.

In a low-scoring tilt between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Cincinnati Reds, Felix Bernal was the difference-maker. The Pittsburgh left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Jimmy Vanthournoutingtonle picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Ryan Terlizzi was tagged with the loss.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Pittsburgh trailing 2-1, Brad Day hit a cutter from Ryan Terlizzi for a 2-run home run, giving the Pirates the walk-off win.

"I was a little disappointed," said Cincinnati manager Jimmy Silveira II. "We could've and should've scored more runs."

With the win, the Pirates improved to 27-24.
