Cubs Pitching Ravaged by Ming
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Gary Ming, it came around today.

The 26-year-old second baseman scattered hits all over Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium to pace the West Virginia Power to a 25-2 victory over the South Bend Cubs.

South Bend skipper Tim Tebow told reporters in the press room that "Ming deserves a hat-tip."

"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Ming hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."

Gary Ming hit an RBI double in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, walked in the 8th, hit a two-run double in the 8th and walked in the 9th.

So far this year Ming is batting .279 with 5 home runs, 26 RBIs and 21 runs scored.
