					| St. Louis rode a fine outing from starter Antonio Lacayo to victory over the Philadelphia Phillies at Busch Stadium. The final score was 3-1. Lacayo, now 9-1, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 9, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. St. Louis occupies third place in the National League Central Division at 27-24. 
 Making an impact for the home team was Antoine Roux. In the bottom of the second, the former first round draft pick  had a run-scoring  sacrifice fly. That made the score 2-0, Cardinals.
