		| Carranza Tosses No-Hitter Against Suns |
		| The West Virginia Power were just hoping for a solid outing from Alfredo Carranza. Instead, they got something special.
The 23-year-old hurler tossed a no-hitter against the Hagerstown Suns, helping the Power take the 9-0 win.

"I felt good throughout the game," he said after his spectacular outing for the Power. "As I was going into the ninth inning, I wasn't nervous. I knew I had a chance to do something special."

Carranza's repertoire has a sinker, slider, and changeup, and he used it all to full advantage, keeping the Hagerstown hitters off balance all game long. The West Virginia hurler fanned 14 and walked 5 in his history-making performance.

"His sinker looked about the size of a watermelon seed and it hissed at you as it passed," Hagerstown manager Kevin Kiermaier joked after the game.

This year Carranza has made 5 starts, thrown 30.2 innings, fanned 38 batters and walked 13. His won-lost record is 2-1 with a 2.64 ERA.
