					| Thompson 5-for-6 Against Baltimore |
					| Matt Thompson was at the head of a Miami hit parade today at Marlins Park. The second baseman went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Marlins to a 16-4 victory over the Baltimore Orioles.
"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Thompson told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."

Orioles skipper John Baltimore said later that the club gave up "too much plate."

"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."

Matt Thompson hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jay Kouns in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Ryuhei Shimabukuro in the 7th and struck out in the 8th.

Thus far this season in 38 games Thompson is batting .326 with 6 home runs, 17 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 43 hits in 132 at-bats.
