					| Angels Need Extra Innings to Top Mariners, 5-3 |
					| The California Angels had to overcome a fine effort from Seattle pitcher William de Jesus to grab a narrow 5-3 win at Safeco Field. de Jesus went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. California reliever Kyle Ehret picked up the win to move to 1-0. Victor Cervantes suffered the loss. With the win, California upped its record to 27-16.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Alain Delhaye came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Seattle pitcher Victor Cervantes, he hit a 1-2 circle change for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting California on top, 4-3.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Delhaye.
