Cole Corkum of the University of Southern California Trojans put on a pitching clinic today at L. Dale Mitchell Baseball Park as he struck out 15 University of Oklahoma Sooners in a 8-2 victory. Corkum, who is tied for 7th in the SL2 with a 0.81 WHIP, was simply magnificent as he held the Sooners to 1 hit. He walked 0.

"I felt okay at the beginning," Corkum said, "but eventually my curveball really started working. I also have to thank my catcher for calling a great game."

When asked about Corkum's performance, Trojans manager Robby Venega shook his head and said, "Yeah, he was good out there today. He was dominating."

To date this season Corkum has compiled a 7-7 record with a 1.69 ERA in 16 starts.
