Hurricanes Hurler Named October's #1 Starter Sunday, November 1st , 2048 The Division 1 hitters didn't have a chance in October when the University of Miami Hurricanes manager wrote "Pellerin" on the lineup card. Outing after outing, Derek Pellerin held teams in check and usually got a win. He excelled with a 3-0 mark and 0.59 ERA in 6 starts. The talented Hurricanes star pitched 30.2 innings, fanned 40 and held opposing teams to a .159 average. For his superb mound work Pellerin was named the ORI Pitcher of the Month by the baseball writers. Pellerin has posted a 6-1 record for the year with a 1.15 ERA. Teams are hitting .156 against him and he has rung up 70 strikeouts in 62.2 innings. |
