Becerra King of Fling with No-Hitter Wednesday, September 2nd , 2048 The University of Maine Black Bears had a lot to celebrate today as 16-year-old hurler Johnny Becerra no-hit the Arizona State University Sun Devils at Phoenix Municipal Stadium today. In an impressive outing that keyed the Black Bears to a 1-0 victory, Becerra had 9 strikeouts and surrendered 1 walk. "He mixed his pitches well and hit his spots, plus he got a little help from above," said University of Maine manager Corey Stefanski. "Johnny really took it to another level today." |
