Super Swinger -- Thompson Slams 5 Hits Saturday, September 19th , 2048 No matter what the Kelowna Heat threw at him today, Andre Thompson hit it. He easily handled Heat pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Flames to a 20-3 triumph at Flames Stadium. "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Thompson's quip, Heat skipper Hichori Toyama said he "would take him up on that next time." Andre Thompson grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Jerry Schlaak in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jerry Schlaak in the 6th and hit an RBI triple in the 8th. Currently Thompson has 15 home runs and a .234 batting average. |
