Knerr 5-for-5 Against Tar Heels Monday, December 7th , 2048 Andy Knerr had an answer for everything the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Tar Heels threw at him today at Jackie Robinson Stadium. The UCLA left fielder went 5-for-5 in the game to put his name in the record book and put the Bruins on top, 10-1. Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Knerr said, "I just see the ball and I hit it." Andy Knerr singled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Isaiah Irving in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th. This season Knerr is swinging the bat at a .280 rate with 89 hits in 318 at-bats. To date he has hit 13 home runs, scored 61 runs and driven in 53. |
