Wakamatsu Gets Award for Relief Work
Saturday, November 14th , 2048
At the age of 24, Inkei Wakamatsu says he still has a lot to learn about life in Major League Baseball.
But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Minnesota Twins reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2048 American League Reliever of the Year.
"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the Tokyo, Japan native said.
For the season, Wakamatsu had 24 saves in 69 relief appearances, which totaled 94.2. He fanned 106 betters, while walking 17 and put up a record of 5-0 to go with his 0.57 ERA.
He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Lance Crumpton of the Seattle Mariners finished second in voting, while William de Jesus of the Seattle Mariners finished third.
