The Wildcards Series went the distance before it all was said and done.

The Washington (APP) Nationals and the Ogden Raptors went at it tooth-and-nail and when it was over at Las Américas Complex, the winner was the Nationals.

They put away Ogden 4-3 to cinch the series and won the right to move onto the Division Series .

For his fine play, even in a losing effort, Ogden first baseman Carlos Gonzalez was given the series Most Valuable Player Award. He hit .444, scored 9 runs and batted in 7 to win the honor.

"It's nice that someone noticed my numbers, but I'd trade it in a heartbeat for a win," he said.

The Division Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wildcards Series finishes.
