Burkholder Rips 3 HR Monday, October 5th , 2048 Ben Burkholder went on an explosive hitting spree against the Chicago (APP) Cubs at Baseball City Complex today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Billings Mustangs to the 28-0 win. The left fielder finished 4-for-6 with 4 runs scored and 7 RBI. "It was just one of those days," Burkholder said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Chicago (APP) skipper Jose Sixtos said Burkholder was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Ben Burkholder flied out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Bobby Almonte in the 2nd, walked in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Bobby Almonte in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Bobby Almonte in the 8th. On the year Burkholder is hitting .337 with 89 hits, 23 home runs, 68 RBIs, .459 OBP and has scored 88 runs. |
