Ironbirds Dominate, Sweep Round 1 Thursday, October 1st , 2048 With a 6-2 victory at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium, the Aberdeen Ironbirds have completed a sweep of the Connecticut Tigers in the Round 1. "On to the Divisional Championship and feeling good," said Jonathan Mendoza. "I don't think our guys expected a sweep, but we'll certainly take it and rest up a bit." For the series, Mendoza hit .545 and won series MVP honors. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Divisional Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
