Hudson Valley-Mahoning Valley Brawl, Spino and Johnson Suspended Thursday, June 25th , 2048 Yesterday at Dutchess Stadium Jonathan Spino and Steve Johnson got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Hudson Valley Renegades and Mahoning Valley Scrappers. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Spino will have to sit out 4 while Johnson would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. In the 2048 season Spino is hitting .177 with 5 home runs. Taking a look at this year, Steve Johnson has made 7 relief appearances, recorded 1 save and compiled a 3-1 won-lost mark and a 3.55 ERA. In pitching 58.1 innings, he has totaled 58 strikeouts and 10 walks. |
