Khalil Stephens Gets MVP Trophy

Khalil Stephens took Eastern League by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 23.
For his spectacular campaign, the Tennessee Smokies star has been named the 2048 National League Most Valuable Player Award recipient.
"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the shortstop.
On the season he compiled a .283 batting average to go with a .344 on-base percentage. The native of Charlotte, North Carolina also added 41 doubles, 10 triples, 21 home runs, 74 RBIs and 100 runs scored.
He received 27 first place votes out of a possible 30. Brad Santanello of the Tennessee Smokies finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Marcos Villalobos of the Tulsa Drillers finished third with 1 first place vote.
