Mississippi Win Division Championship Sunday, October 11th , 2048 The Mississippi Braves took time to celebrate with the Mississippi fans who stuck around after the game, following the team's Division Championship triumph over the Harrisburg Senators. Members of the Braves hung around chatting, high-fiving and taking pictures with the Mississippi fans in attendance at Trustmark Park, long after the last pitch had been thrown in their 6-0 win to seal the series 4-2. "We've got great fan support," said left fielder Sal Fernandez. "Whether we're at home or on the road, the fans support us. So we wanted to show them how important that is to us. Some Harrisburg fans that were there even congratulated us on the win." For the series, Fernandez hit .450 with a .542 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, 4 RBI and scored 1 runs. Things weren't so cordial on the Senators side of things. Their clubhouse was closed to media after the game and all players and coaches quickly dressed and left the stadium after the end to their season. The Conference Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Division Championship finishes. |
