					| Angels Deal Mariners 6-3 Defeat |
					| The California Angels defeated the Seattle Mariners, 6-3, in American League action at Safeco Field. California pitcher Jeff Baker had a standout performance. In 8 innings, Baker surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed 3 runs. Willie Nieto collected his 4th save.
California used a well-timed hit by Rusty Ney to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Angels ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Ney.

The Angels raised their record to 17-8.
