Auburn Sweeps into the Divisional Championship
Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the National League Round 1. It turned out quite a bit different.


The Auburn Doubledays swept aside the Hillsboro Hops to advance to the Divisional Championship, winning the final game by a 4-3 score at Falcon Park.

The series MVP was right fielder Taffounnout Kame, who hit .333 with a .375 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs.

"We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it."

The Divisional Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
