Mariners Win at Texas, 7-4
The 7-4 Seattle win over Texas was due in large part to Jimmy Hammertime. The Mariners third baseman went 3-4 with a triple and a double, while adding 3 RBI. The save went to Omar Colunga, his 4th this season. Texas is 6-8 after the defeat.

The Rangers had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Mariners going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 29-year old center fielder Jose Vasquez came to the plate. Vasquez hit a run-scoring triple on a full count fastball from Texas hurler Franz Holzknecht. It was Vasquez's 1st triple of the year.

"We'll try to build on that win," Vasquez told the Seattle Citizen.
