Miracle Espino Smacks 5 Hits
Tomas Espino was at the head of a Fort Myers hit parade today at The Diamond. The first baseman went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Miracle to a 16-15 victory over the Richmond Flying Squirrels.

"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Espino told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."

Flying Squirrels skipper Roberto Perez said later that the club gave up "too much plate."

"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."

Tomas Espino doubled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Hiroaki Yazawa in the 7th, hit an RBI double in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 10th.
