It wasn't easy but the Altoona Curve made it look that way.

Starter Ryan Rakoff shut out the Pensacola Blue Wahoos despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Altoona Curve cruised to victory, 9-0. Rakoff allowed only 3 hits and rang up 14 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."

Looking at his season stats, Rakoff has won 7 and lost 3, collecting 122 strikeouts and 28 walks in 114.2 innings with a 1.73 ERA.
