					| Rangers Get 5-1 Win Versus Oakland |
					| Globe Life Park in Arlington was the site for American League action featuring the Oakland Athletics and Texas Rangers.
The Texas Rangers knocked off the Oakland Athletics, 5-1, at Globe Life Park in Arlington. John Giesbrecht was a big reason Texas won. The second baseman was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs. Franz Holzknecht got the win, improving to 13-10. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 5.

The Rangers got an important contribution from center fielder Marc Peckermark, who in the bottom of the fourth knocked a 1-2 changeup into right-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 18th home run of the season and put the Rangers ahead, 4-0.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Giesbrecht. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

The win for the Rangers lifted their record to 80-73.
