Floyd-William Goof did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Seattle Mariners from losing, 7-4, to the New York Yankees at Safeco Field. Goof was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The save was credited to Isaias Chavez, his 21st. The triumph makes New York 52-98.

New York used the timely hitting of Jordan de Jesus to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Yankees on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"No time for flexing," said de Jesus. "It's always one game at a time."
