					| The Atlanta Braves beat the Chicago Cubs, 5-2. Atlanta pitcher and Rumford, Maine, native Nolan Stefanski led the way. Jeremy Kasten, now 12-9, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Scott Bernstein earned the save for Atlanta, his 2nd of the year. 
 Terry Tuckfard, the two-time Great Glove Award winner , had a direct impact on the outcome. Tuckfard contributed a 2-run  single in the top of the tenth inning to put Atlanta up, 4-2.
 
 Tuckfard called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
 
 Atlanta improves to 87-54 with the win. They lead their division by 15½ games.
