					| Walk-Off Win Makes Detroit 49-83 |
					| Kansas City center fielder Pete Hansel was sensational. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Detroit beat the Royals, 8-5. Steve McGaughey notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. His record now sits at 3-4. The victory puts Detroit at 49-83.
Detroit won the game in the bottom of the 13th inning. With one out and Mike Jones on the mound for Kansas City, second baseman Dave Reynolds hit a dramatic 3-run home run, bringing Tigers fans to their feet.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Reynolds.
