The home crowd had a good time watching the New York Mets and Washington Nationals get after it.

The Washington Nationals beat the New York Mets, 9-4. Washington pitcher and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, native Brian Ramirez led the way. Washington is now 55-73, New York 66-63.

The Nationals got a big at-bat from third baseman John Sanders. For the game, Sanders went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 21st home run of the season gave Washington a 4-2 lead.

"Enjoyed this one," Sanders told the Washington Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
