Rangers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Angels
Texas designated hitter Butch Kaiser contributed to his team's 7-4 win over the California Angels. Kaiser, who is tied for 10th in the AL in total bases with 229, went 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Rangers. Texas reliever Brad Kramer was the winner. His record is now 5-4. The losing pitcher was Bryan Banana. Randolph Rayner earned save number 1 this season.

Kaiser had a game-changing home run in the top of the 12th. On a 1-1 fastball from Dave Jackson, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Rangers a 7-4 lead. It was the 21st home run of the year for Kaiser.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Texas manager Juan Smith III.

Texas has a record of 64-58, placing them second in the American League West Division.
