					| Angels Deal Athletics 7-5 Defeat |
					| The California Angels downed the Oakland Athletics, 7-5, at O.co Coliseum. The Angels were led by Bjoern Waltersson. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs. The win was credited to Pete Rance in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Franklin Rojas took the loss. Bryan Banana notched his 2nd save in 3 chances.
California used the bat of Rusty Ney to capture the win. The right fielder jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Angels ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Waltersson said.

The American League West Division-leading Angels have a record of 67-50.
