					| Great Effort by Mets 2B Bellman Not Enough in 7-6 Loss |
					| New York second baseman Kevin Bellman had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-6, to Cincinnati at Great American Ball Park. Bellman went 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Ragnar Alqvist picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-2. Sam Schrecengost was tagged with the loss. Earning his 14th save for Cincinnati was Junpei Yamazaki.
Had Joseph Kirchmann not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Kirchmann hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Reds.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Kirchmann. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Cincinnati.
