					| Oakland Athletics starter Nick Kirk turned in a top-notch performance against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. The result was a win for the Athletics, 4-1. Kirk, the winner, moves to 10-7. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks. Oakland has a record of 59-51, placing them second in the American League West Division. 
 Oakland took a 3-1 lead on Al Hernandez's 5th home run of the season. The solo  home run came off New York pitcher Chad Curry in the top of the seventh.
 
 "Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Hernandez told the Oakland Daily.
