Jasper Burd was a vital contributor to the 4-2 Cleveland victory over Toronto. The Guardians second baseman went 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Paul Lewis notched his 1st save in 2 chances. The win makes Cleveland 46-61.
With Cleveland trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Burd hit a knuckleball from Javy Falcon for a 3-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Guardians ahead, 3-1.
After the game, Cleveland manager Bersha Nainco applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
