Big Day for Gallegos: Swats 5 Hits
Philadelphia (APP) shortstop Dave Gallegos could do no wrong in today's 29-4 win over the Cubs as he collected 5 hits.

"Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Cubs skipper Jose Sixtos said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts."

Gallegos agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game.

"Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."

Dave Gallegos grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Bobby Almonte in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, walked in the 5th and doubled in the 7th.

This year Gallegos is hitting .314 with 12 home runs and 65 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .421 clip and scored 117 runs.
