		| Nieves Magnificent in 6-0 Canton Triumph |
		| It was not a good day at the plate for the Columbus Reds. They came up empty when it mattered against Canton Indians right-hander Philip Nieves, who scattered 1 hit across 9 innings and held the Reds scoreless.
"We had 1 hit so I know he wasn't completely untouchable, but he was close," Columbus manager Gavin Wallace said later.

Nieves chalked up 7 strikeouts and 2 walks in the 6-0 Indians win.

So far this season, Nieves has logged a 3-2 record with a 2.15 ERA. He has started 6 games, hurled 46 innings and registered 43 strikeouts and 16 walks.
