The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Cleveland Guardians, 5-1. St. Louis pitcher and Lincoln, Nebraska, native Mike Pemble led the way. Pemble, now 1-2, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Bryan Banana earned his 23rd save in 25 chances.

The Cardinals got a big at-bat from shortstop Chris Blue. For the game, Blue was 1 for 2 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
