					| Atlanta Braves starter Matthew Spurrell turned in a top-notch performance against the Washington Nationals at Turner Field. The result was a win for the Braves, 5-2. Spurrell picked up the win for Atlanta, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 11-2. Atlanta bumps their record to 46-38 with the win. 
 The Braves had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 5-2, Atlanta, with one out. Washington, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Mark Rennie dug in at the plate, but on a 0-2 fastball, he hit into a double play.
