Braves Cruise to League Championship Series with Sweep
|
It was a sweet sweep for the Atlanta Braves as they eased past the Pittsburgh Pirates to advance to the League Championship Series.
Atlanta won the final game by a 9-1 count and the series 3-0.
"We're just fortunate to get through it quickly and be able to rest up for the next series," said Ike Trout, who was named series MVP.
For the series, Trout hit .462 with a .533 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Atlanta Braves don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Arizona Diamondbacks - San Francisco Giants series. Arizona leads the series 2 games to 0. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
