The Washington Nationals topped the Chicago Cubs by the score of 5-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Seth Cook. Cook was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Nationals on the day. Washington pitcher Chad Mangum got the win, upping his record to 2-7. Randy Budgell got the loss. David Sly converted his 19th save in 25 tries.
