Gill Makes Record Book, Slams 4 HR
Fans at Eck Stadium won't soon forget the raw display of power put on by Wichita State University Shockers center fielder Kyle Gill today. Gill smashed 4 home runs in Wichita State University's 31-4 victory over the University of Illinois Fighting Illini.

"To be honest with you, I have never even thought about hitting this many home runs in a game," Gill said to reporters after the game. "Only legends hit this many home runs in a game and I ain't no legend."

In his history-making performance, Gill victimized University of Illinois hurlers for 4 hits in 5 at-bats with 6 runs scored and 11 RBIs.

"What he did was unbelievable," said University of Illinois manager Larry Stefanski II. "My guys gave it their best, but he hit some fine pitches. He was like -- he was in automatic home run mode today. He just had that great swing. It didn't matter what we threw him. It was gone."

Kyle Gill struck out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Bryan Schauman in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Ross Ledford in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, walked in the 5th, walked in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Ross Ledford in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Ross Ledford in the 8th.

Gill is batting at a .340 pace this season, picking up 17 hits in 50 at-bats with 5 home runs, 20 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
