Zeledon Strokes 5 Hits
After a 5-hit effort to lead Wichita State University's 26-0 victory over the University of Michigan Wolverines, second baseman Alex Zeledon told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Evolution-level is really something special."

The 17-year-old player earned his accolades today at Eck Stadium with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Wolverines.

"His swing is getting there," said Shockers skipper Joe McDermott, who spoke glowingly of Zeledon after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Alex did that to perfection today."

Alex Zeledon singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.

Currently Zeledon is hitting .393 and has collected no home runs, 5 RBIs and scored 8 times, while playing in 6 games.
