Hits Galore: Geiger Drills 5 Hits
|
Even as a kid, Justin Geiger said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Northeast Delta Dental Stadium today, Geiger showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 24-year-old first baseman had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, helping his team knock off the Montgomery Biscuits by a score of 9-3.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."
Justin Geiger hit a two-run double in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI triple in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
Thus far this year Geiger is hitting .405 with no home runs, 12 RBIs and 7 runs scored.
