					| Cubs Mow Down Reds, 9-4 |
					| Chicago took on Cincinnati in front of a lively crowd.
In the 9-4 Chicago win over Cincinnati, the impact of Efrain Vargas was substantial. Vargas, who finished 3rd in the NL in home runs with 47 in 2036, was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Steve DiDomenico, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-1. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Miles Edwards earned save number 1 this season.

Steve Bartman Jr., who finished 5th in the AL in hits with 196 in 2039, aided the Chicago cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the second baseman went 1-3 with 2 walks.

"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Bartman Jr.. "But it's all business when we're on the field."

At 26-28, Chicago is in 4th place in the National League Central Division.
