Arizona Diamondbacks starter Marcus Wolfe had all his pitches working at Chase Field. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 9-1 Arizona win over the St. Louis Cardinals. Wolfe, the winner, moves to 3-4. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 11 and giving up 2 walks. The Diamondbacks have now won 10 straight.

The Diamondbacks got a big hit from center fielder Mike Mentzer. In the bottom of the eighth, Mentzer pounded a 3-run home run to center. His 6th home run of the season put the Diamondbacks ahead, 9-1.

"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Wolfe.
