Brewers Drop Cubs, 4-2
|
Milwaukee Brewers starter Dale Ahernfeld turned in a top-notch performance against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. The result was a win for the Brewers, 4-2. Ahernfeld, now 5-1, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Jeff Urry closed the door for Milwaukee, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Milwaukee relied on the hitting of Dave Gonzalez to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Brewers on top, 4-2. For the game, Gonzalez had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

The Brewers lead the National League Central Division by 2½ games.
