The Cleveland Guardians got a stellar performance from pitcher Bruce Poff, who handcuffed the Chicago offense en route to a win, 3-1, at Wrigley Field. The winning pitcher was Poff, now 3-4. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 8. Katsumi Omura closed the game out for Cleveland, earning his 8th save.

Cleveland needed the clutch hitting of Hector Pedroso to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Guardians on top, 3-1. For the game, Pedroso had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"Feels good to get the job done," Pedroso said after the game.

The 'W' lifts Cleveland's record to 18-24.
