The Rangers grabbed a win, 4-3, at O.co Coliseum, overcoming a fine effort from Oakland pitcher Nick Kirk. Kirk went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Mark Lopez got the save, the 2nd for him this season. The win elevated the Rangers to 22-22.
Texas needed the clutch hitting of Addick de Vries to notch the win. The shortstop hammered a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Rangers on top, 4-3. For the game, de Vries had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Oakland manager Daryl S. Oakland said following the tough loss.
