					| Washington Drops St. Louis, 4-1 |
					| Washington starter Danny Diaz put a stranglehold on the St. Louis offense. The right-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Nationals to a 4-1 win. David Sly nailed down his 11th save. The third-place Nationals now have a win-loss record of 17-20.
Seth Cook, the 27-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Cook contributed a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put Washington up, 1-0.

"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Diaz. "I just want to win ballgames."
